End of 2017 Updates from Miss Meen

Dear all,
Thank you for visiting my blog, I hope all of you are doing great. In

this blog post, I am going to share a few updates on my life and wrap up 2017 in this post. 2017 has been an eventful year and I am so thankful for everything in my life.

Today I received a very special email from one of my faithful readers. I woke up in the morning, had breakfast and checked my email littlemissmeencollections@gmail.com and her email cheered up my morning. I like long emails or messages because I generally engage more in deep conversations compared to on the surface convos. To anyone thinking of emailing me, all your emails and real names remain private and confidential unless you give me permission to share. I may rephrase the content of your email to write a blog post that may benefit anyone who may experience the same situation but will not mention your name. For this recent email I received, I really like it that she has her full name and also an online name. I like it when readers write their full name so I can have an idea who I am speaking to and it creates an online friendship.

Yesterday was Christmas and I was back in our hometown. A granduncle passed away a few days before and we went to send our prayers and visit his grave... please send your prayers and Al-Fatihah to him...

After that, all of us went to watch Jumanji at the cinema. The movie was really nice and the theatre was full! OMG! We had to sit in the second row so I was literally looking up at the screen the entire time. The story was pretty nice but really different to the first Jumanji movie. I think they need to adapt the movie according to what is popular now. Some parts were really funny and people laughed a lot. In Malaysia, caramel popcorn is popular. When I was living in America, we only had salted popcorn so I needed time getting used to sweet popcorn. For the first few years, I never got popcorn when I went to the cinema in Malaysia. After some time, I tried and got used to it.

Once the movie ended, we went for a massage. The others went for a foot reflexology while I went for a body massage. I really needed it and they charged RM50/hour so it is slightly cheaper compared to the standard price in Kuala Lumpur. It like a Thai Massage. Massages are good to loosen tensed muscles and improve blood flow so if you have the chance, I highly recommend it.

I spent time with cousins back in my hometown and it was so nice seeing them after some time. I think the last time I went back to my hometown was during Independence Day late August so it's been 4 months, wow. I always feel that while we have the chance, spend quality time with all the people important to us. Life is too short. Spend it doing things you love with the people you love.

During this free time, I have been doing things I enjoy and things I did not have much time to do while I was studying like piano classes, golf, Quranic classes, blogging, tennis, attending my brother's tournaments, exploring Kuala Lumpur. Speaking of which, a few days ago, I went to Muzium Diraja and a few weeks ago, I went to Muzium Negara. Muzium Diraja is the palace of His Majesty but it is the old palace which is now a museum. There is now a new palace so the old one is open to the public to view. Muzium Negara is the National Museum and it has all the historical artefacts of Malaysia and even some geology. It was my first time going to both places so it was really interesting.

A few days ago, we went to Titiwangsa Park and I wanted to go there because I miss cycling. There, there are many bicycles for rent. It is usually RM10/hour so we rented it for an hour. They have many other things for rent apart from bicycles like roller blades, rickshaws and bicycles built for 2 people and even 3 people. It was so fun cycling, they even have a lane made for cyclists.

I am going for an end-of-year holiday soon so I decided to write this end-of-year post now before my holidays. I want to update pictures from the holiday and share about it soon :)

Before 2017 ends, I aim to reflect on all that has happened in this year, achievements and improvements that can be made for next year. At the same time, I will write down my new resolutions for 2018. Today is 26 December, Boxing Day in the UK and I still remember what I was doing this time last year. I went to Westfield Shepherds Bush with Priya and we did lots of fun shopping. I remember that we went super early in the morning and there were limited buses to Shepherds Bush from Earls Court but we managed to catch one. Things change from one year to another. Your weekly schedule this year may be completely different a year from now. At that time, I have not even submitted my Master thesis and still trying to resolve and improvise a few things in my thesis for the submission on 7 January 2017. Today, a year later, I have submitted that and completed many exams and assignments and the summer job and graduation. 2017 marks a life event and an interesting year, a year I will always cherish in my heart. Life moves on and sometimes, I miss some of the very exciting things that happened but at the same time, I look forward to more exciting memories in the future. In my opinion, to stay content and happy, you need to live in the present, thankful for the past and have hope in the future.

With this, I end my post of the day. See you in 2018 :) I will be posting a motivational article in response to the email I received this morning. It is a repost but I feel that it relates very well to what she mentioned. Please take care and have a beautiful day :)
