Holy Month Of Ramadhan
Today is the 17th of Ramadhan which means 12 days left.. For those fasting, I wish Happy Ramadhan and make great use of the days left to perform ibadahs and prayers. For those who don't know much, I'd like to share with you the benefits and true secrets of this special month. Honestly I don't know everything but I'll share with you what I know..
The Benefits of Ramadhan Compared to Other Months:
The Benefits of Ramadhan Compared to Other Months:
- The devils are held in chains.
- The holy al-Quran was sent down on the 17th of Ramadhan
- The night of Laitatul Qadr is on one of the last 10 days of the month ( whatever prayers you do on this special night is equivalent to 1000 months of doing it)
- It is called the month of People because it is created for the worshippers of Allah:)
- Fasting is obligatory for those who cannot fast (sick, period, etc) , they can replace the days they missed on any other day on the following months before Ramadhan the next year.
- In this month, you are the Guests of Allah, enjoying His hopitality
- Your breathing is "praise of Allah", your sleep is His worship, your prayers receive His approval, extra ibadahs are sactioned.
- This is the month to seek forgiveness because the doors of Heaven are open and the doors of Hell are closed. ( everybody makes mistakes so this is the time to make up for those mistakes with Allah)
- Whoever makes better their moral values will cross the " Bridge of Siraat" ( the Bridge that leads to Heaven and below is Hell) with ease while many will stumble and fall.
- Whoever gives leniency to his/her employess will receive equivalent leniency on the Day of Judgement.
- Whoever takes care and looks after the orphans and relatives will be treated mercifully on the Day of Judgement.
- Whoever prays optional prayers will get immunity from Hell Fire.Praying obligatory prayers in prime time will multiply the good in leaps and bound.
- Whoever recites even one verse of the Al-Quran obtains the reward of a full recital of the whole book in other months.
- The Lord of the Worlds has given His word, in the name of His Might and Honour that those who pray and prostrate in this month, the flames of the fire will not frighten them.
So you see how much people can repent and seek forgiveness on this precious month that is coming to an end soon. Btw, I did not remember all these facts so I opened my book and referred)
Reminder:
- Don't let the nights go waste in slumber, don't let its days be in loss of remembrance of Allah. This is the month that is very dear to Allah and is the most pure, generous and merciful of all months....
Why do we fast (puasa) ?
- Thirst and hunger you undergo brings to your memory the severity and sharpness of the drought and starvation of Day of Judgement.
- The hunger and thirst , Muslims sympathizes those on the world with little to eat. We hear about poverty but we never know how it feels. This develops compassion and understanding to the poor and unfortunate people.
- Through increases devotion, Muslims feel closer to their Creator and recognize everything we have is a blessing from Him.
- Through self-control, a Muslim practices good manners, good speech and good habits. ( During fasting, we are suppose to watch our speech and abstain from bad habits.)
- Through family and community gatherings, Muslims strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood in theor own communities throughout the world.
- Research has proven that fasting gives rest to the digestive system and allows it to remove toxins and wastes in our body. People who fast can reduce high blood pressure, diabetes and fasting is found to be the only solution to liver cancer.
- " There is something magical about starvation," says Dr Marc Hellerstein, a professor of endocrinology, metabolism and nutrition at the University of California at Berkeley, who studies fasting.
- .Note that these researches have been done not only by Muslim doctors but also by doctors in America and UK. Here is a link for more info
